RSE is now releasing a new full titanium muffler exclusively for the Mazda RX-8 (model: SE3P).
This product was developed to further enhance the appeal of rotary cars, which has not faded even after 20 years, using modern materials and technology, and it embodies our ``respect for driving'' and ``passion for rotary cars.''
In this release, we would like to explain the background and development philosophy behind this, as well as the intrinsic value of the RX-8.
In 2003, Mazda released the RX-8 (model SE3P) after a long development period, driven by the strong determination that "the rotary engine must not die out."
In the late 1990s, the previous generation RX-7 (FD3S) was highly acclaimed around the world as a high-performance sports car, but continued production became difficult due to emissions regulations, fuel efficiency issues, and waves of economic change. Nevertheless, within Mazda, the desire to carry the rotary engine into the future continued to be passed down.
The resulting RX-8 was not simply a successor model, but an innovative car that offered new value as a "rotary sports car that can be enjoyed by up to four people."
The RX-8's greatest feature is its center pillarless double doors, and the engine installed in the body is the 13B-MSP (RENESIS).

This power unit maintains the high-revving feel that is unique to rotary engines, while breaking new ground in combining practicality and environmental friendliness.
People tend to talk about the popularity of the FD-type RX-7, but when you look at sales figures, there is a surprising fact.
・RX-7 (FD3S): Approximately 70,000 units (global sales)
・RX-8: Approximately 190,000 units (global sales)
"Four-seater," "easy to handle," and "improved fuel economy" -- these figures are proof that the RX-8 has been accepted by a wide range of people, and demonstrate its new potential as a sports car.
Today, while the RX-7 is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, the RX-8 is sometimes seen as a shadow of its predecessor. However, we believe it's time to reassess the essential appeal of this car.

This completely changes the driving feel. The joy of turning, lightness, and resonant rotary sound appeal to all five senses of the driver.
We chose a single structure for the design, as it is based on our commitment to pursuing the essence of riding, rather than appearance or trends.

This is a sign of respect for Mazda's engineers and a form of dialogue between us as fellow engineers.
Rotary engine cars will become increasingly rare in the future.

Along with this reevaluation of the RX-8, RSE hopes to provide owners with a deeper "time with Rotary" through valuable products.
