Nissan Fairlady Z Z34/370Z -
A car that symbolizes the golden age of naturally aspirated sports cars
The Fairlady Z (Z34/370Z) debuted in 2009.
This was the sixth generation of the Z lineage, a long-selling model that continued production until the late 2020s.
It was powered by Nissan's VQ37VHR 3.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine.
Featuring a variable valve timing system (VVEL), it delivered 336 horsepower as standard and 355 horsepower in NISMO specification. Available
with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission, it delivered surprisingly linear response.
The 370Z/Z34 is said to be the last purely naturally aspirated sports car, pursuing "driver's pleasure" even in an age of increasingly electronic controls.
RSE/TOMEIUSA first released a muffler for the Z34/370Z in 2015: the TYPE-R (single full titanium), which remains popular with many fans to this day . This muffler was born from " The Art of Single,
" a concept that prioritizes quality over quantity and performance over design . It features a straight structure with a main pipe diameter of φ80.5 mm. It minimizes exhaust resistance to the utmost, faithfully eliciting the intake and exhaust pulse of a naturally aspirated engine. The results were overwhelming. With over 5,000 units sold worldwide , it has become one of the most successful mufflers in RSE/TOMEIUSA's history.
Since the introduction of the TYPE-R, many Z34/370Z owners have been clamoring for a dual exhaust system and a more powerful rear exhaust.
However, RSE/TOMEI USA has not wavered in its belief that "lightweight = performance."
While there was a conflict between wanting to respond to customer demands, a single exhaust system would achieve the purest exhaust efficiency.
This was the conclusion reached by RSE and TOMEI USA, and the dual exhaust system idea was shelved at the time.
However, years have passed, and we have begun our investigations again from scratch. We have developed a more refined layout, optimized the titanium material, and redesigned the exhaust pressure balance. The development project has been restarted under the new theme of
" a dual exhaust system that combines beautiful appearance with performance ."
After several years of prototyping and thorough testing, the TYPE-D Dual Exhaust System has finally been completed. This is a masterpiece model that has evolved from the previous single layout to a new dual structure,
while still adhering to RSE's development philosophy of "performance over appearance."
While thoroughly pursuing lighter weight and better response, it also achieves a high level of dual-cylinder sound , making the roar of the 3.7L V6 engine resonate even deeper and more vividly.

The TYPE-R is a pure competition model designed to pursue "the fastest speed." The TYPE-D is a street performance model with "attractive" beauty. What both have in common is the RSE and TOMEI USA commitment to titanium . It is a design philosophy that does not compromise on lightness, strength, or resonance.
The sound of the TYPE-D is just like RSE/TOMEIUSA's "The Force of Titanium note." It has a calm
bass sound when idling,
which changes to a dry mid-to-high range when you step on the accelerator, and
at high revolutions, the high-pitched sound that is unique to VQ resonates.
The dual structure creates an exquisite balance between the thickness of the low range and the extension of the high range. It is an exhaust sound that deserves to be called
"the sound of an instrument" rather than "the sound of a machine."
The TYPE-D is more than just a derivative model. It is
a symbol of respect for and challenge to the legendary Fairlady Z (Z34/370Z) .
The lightness and pure driving performance created by the single-cylinder engine,
and the power and style brought by the dual-cylinder engine,
are fused together in the TYPE-D through the combined technical capabilities of RSE and TOMEI USA.
Furthermore, an exhaust manifold specifically for the 370Z/Z34 is currently under development.
It will be optimally combined with the TYPE-R/TYPE-D,
taking the naturally aspirated performance of the VQ37 engine to the next level.
