The HKS R-Type Intercooler Kit is a high-performance, application-specific upgrade designed for optimal airflow and heat dissipation. 

All HKS intercoolers work by rapidly reducing the inherent heat of the compressed intake air before it enters the engine. By employing a unique tube and fin design, the intercooler acts as a large heat exchanger. This innovative design dissipates the heat generated during compression without reducing boost pressure or throttle response.

• Cooling Efficiency Improvement = Torque Increase
  HKS has increased the core size beyond stock specifications to boost airflow, and introduced a new fin design that offers enhanced heat radiation. The improved cooling efficiency results in lower intake air temperatures and increased air density, which in turn broadens the fueling and ignition range for more power and torque.

• Pressure Loss Reduction = Response Improvement
  In turbocharged systems, minimizing pressure drop is critical. HKS has achieved a low-resistance design by utilizing thin fins and optimizing tube cross-sectional areas. These measures maintain high cooling efficiency while reducing pressure losses, ensuring that throttle response and engine torque remain uncompromised.

R TYPE is designed for circuit use; ideal to use with a stock replacement type turbine to wastegate type large size turbine. This intercooler derives better turbine performance regardless the engine rpm during driving on a straight track and acceleration after cornering.
