The HKS 22002-AT006 is a high-performance camshaft set engineered for the Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86. This camshaft set is designed to enhance engine performance, particularly in high RPM ranges, making it ideal for motorsports and performance enthusiasts

    Features & Highlights

    • Optimized Valve Timing: The camshafts have been tested on engine benches to determine the ideal valve timing. The knock pin has been relocated to a modified position, allowing for perfect valve timing by simply replacing the stock cams without the need for measurement or adjustment.

    • Enhanced Performance: Offers more power over HKS SS-Cams through increased lift.

    • High RPM Power: Designed to deliver significant power gains in the high RPM range, making it suitable for both naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines.

    • Direct Injection Compatibility: Includes cam lobes for the direct injection pump, allowing the camshaft to be used similarly to the stock configuration.

    • Installation Considerations: Due to the narrow stock valve piston clearance, it's recommended to use this camshaft kit in conjunction with a capacity upgrade kit. The piston recess has been redesigned to enable a 0.7mm lift increase without replacing the springs

    Specifications

    • The camshaft design software developed for the locker arm enabled to design high speed valve that is hardly made by other manufacturers. To realize the design by this software, grinding by custom-made small-diameter grindstone was performed to create highly accurate concave camshaft.

    • To avoid a power loss by a direct ignition fuel pump, small cam lobe design was adopted from the Applied E model.

    • The lift was increased to the limit of the valve spring while considering surging. The designated valve timing is equivalent to the stock since the variable valve timing unit's operation angle still has some spare angle.

    • Due to the valve opening/closing speed increase and duration enlargement, using the camshaft variable angle maximally may cause insufficient VP (clearance between the valve and piston) resulting in unnecessary contact of the valve and piston. To avoid this unnecessary contact, use HKS Capacity Upgrade Kit which piston recess shape matches with this camshafts.
